There's 3 main types of training most people choose from -- bodybuilding, powerlifting, and aerobic exercise. Bodybuilding's great, but it can take a lot of time per workout, and it DOESN'T make you stronger. It's great for building muscle SIZE. But does very little for strength.  What you end up with is big bulky muscles that lift embarrassing amounts of weight.  All talk, no walk or as I used to say these muscles are for show not to go! Then there is Powerlifting which makes you strong as hell, but It Doesn't Help You LOOK Any Better.  In fact, the majority of powerlifters end up one of two ways -- small like they don't lift, or big and fat with an epic gut they can use as a beer stand.  And then there's aerobic exercise (cardio) - long distance running, elliptical training, using the stairmaster, and jogging. They're awesome for your heart's health in the right amount and intensity, but do little for how you look and how strong you are.  TOO MUCH cardio can actually cause muscle breakdown because of cortisol release (as we talked about above) -- especially if you're not lifting any weights.  This leads to less muscle, which takes you down a road of growing fatter since you're burning less calories per day. Think sprinter vs. Long-distance runner, which body would you rather have? (Remember...burning 500 fewer calories per day will add exactly 1 pound of ab-hiding fat per week.)

There's also a fourth option almost everyone overlooks.

The Best Of All 3 Choices Combined...What is called lean Hybrid Training.  If your a youtube fan you have probably seen my man Elliot talk about this and talk it up.  He didn't create it he just promoted it.  For those of you who do not know what or who he is now you do!  Anyway most people who exercise or lift weights understand that Type 1 Muscle Fibers (aka slow twitch) are used by your body to endure long stints of exercise.  Things like running a marathon, jogging, and swimming. They also know that Type 2 Muscle Fibers (aka fast twitch) are best suited for sprinting, jumping and heavy weight lifting.  But what they might not have ever heard is...There's a third type of muscle fiber known as type III (scientifically known as IIc).  The Amazing Thing About This Muscle Fiber Is That It Has The Capacity To Grow Larger And Leaner...
