The Perfect Exercise

People always ask me what is the best exercise for this or what is the best way to get rid of this part of my.... Truth is there is no best exercise...there are just exercises.  But if I had to be pinned and hog tied to one best exercise, I would choose the loaded barbell squat.  The squat has to be one of the most known yet mostcommonly incorrectly  performedexercises out there.  But that is a discussion piece for another time. My reasoning for the squat, is this.  The squat if done correctly trains the recruitment of the posterior chain in a way that is progressively improvable.  Your posterior chain would be the hamstrings, the glutes and adductors.  But beyond that, holding a weighted bar also recruits the shoulders, the upper and lower back, the abdominals, the lateral trunk muscles and the costals (rib cage).  I also wanted to note that the quads are worked obviously and is one of the largest muscle groups in the body, so in essence the biggest muscles groups in your body are being trained with the squat (this leads to more calories burned and more muscles developed).  If you're trying to add size, guess what?  The squat is your primary exercise.  If you're trying to gain balance, yep you guessed it the squat is your go-to and if you're trying to perform better at your sport and do squats and do them often.  It only makes sense for an ateleteeince most sports are power driven, meaning the more power you can generate the better at said sport you will be, the squat is your panacea.  And thats whether your a hockey player to a golfer power is the game!
